Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2016 (Spring Edition), organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Hong Kong, China during April 6-9, 2016.
Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2016 (Spring Edition) provides an international platform to showcase Green Lighting, Commercial Lighting, Decorative Lighting, Lighting Accessories, Hall of Aurora for branded products, Parts & Components, Technical & Outdoor Lighting, Chandeliers and LED Lighting.
Staged in the prominent Hall 1 and Hall 3 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the 7th edition of the fair concluded with great success.This year, the fair presented a new record of 1,252 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions with first time participation from Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Russia and the United Kingdom. Top participating countries and regions included the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. The fair had once again gathered a wide spectrum of exhibitors in different product zones.
The acclaimed Hall of Aurora was taken to new heights and featured over 240 quality brands, including Ervan, Ford, Gentos, TCL and Viribright.
World of Professional and Industrial Lighting made its debut this year. The zone showcased professional lighting fixtures and applications for specific uses and industrial environments.
World of LED & Green Lighting, which was sub-categorised into Indoor and Outdoor Lighting, formed the largest product zone with 506 exhibitors. The zone catered for the uprising demand for energy-saving and green lighting products.
Other product zones included Avenue of Chandeliers, Avenue of Inspiration, Decorative Lighting, Commercial Lighting, Lighting Accessories, Parts & Components, Outdoor Lighting, Advertising Display Lighting, Business of IPand Trade Services & Publications.
This year, a total of 19,137 trade buyers from 112 countries and regions took part in the fair, of which over 61% were from overseas. Top ten visiting countries and regions consisted of the Chinese mainland, USA, India, Australia, Taiwan, Russia, Germany, Canada, Korea and UK.
Buyer attendance from emerging markets saw an increase of 17% over the previous year, while buyers from developed markets also increased by 12%. Attendance from Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Turkey, India, the United Arab Emirates and the Chinese mainland registered double-digit percentage growth. In addition, a total of 57 buying missions were organized to bring over international major importers, distributors and retailers to the fair.
Asian Lighting Forum 2015
The Asian Lighting Forum returned to offer the ideal meeting place for the local and overseas lighting community. The forum brought together experts from business, government and professional associations to discuss the latest technology developments and regulatory updates within the industry. The event was divided into two sessions: “Global Market Trends on Lighting Product Development” and “Commercial/Technical Lighting Applications”
The 8th Hong Kong Lighting Design Competition
This year’s competition featured the theme Enlightenment. It received a total of 194 entries for the Open and Student Group categories. A judging panel comprising of industry experts and local designers was formed. The winning pieces were showcased at the fair’s display area, Hall 1C Concourse, throughout the fair period.
To provide industry participants a professional yet relaxing environment for business matching, buyer forums focusing on business opportunities in Middle East, Brazilian and US markets, and an exhibitor forum showcasing the latest lighting products, were also organised.
